SWEET PONGAL



Ingredients
Jaggery preparation
  • Powdered Jaggery – ½ cup
  • Water – ¼ cup

To pressure cook
  • Raw rice – ½ cup
  • Water – 1 ½ cup
  • Jaggery extract
To season
  • Ghee
  • Cashew nuts – 10 pods
  • Dry grapes – 10
  • Ellachi powder – 1/4 t spoon

Method


                           
  • Mix the powdered jaggery in water and allow it to boil once and filter it and keep aside.
  • Then pressure cook the raw rice and water by allowing 3 visils.
  • To the pressure cooked rice add the jaggery extract and again leave a visil in pressure cooker.
  • Finally season with the items given by sauting it with the ghee.
